This tutorial provides step by step instructions on how to optimize the layout of a chart.

  • Select the FILE tab and then click on the OPEN button. Click on the folder called TUTORIALS. Double-click on the file called TUTORIAL 7.
  • First, let's use Text Wrapping to make sure no fields are truncated.
  • Make sure the EDIT CHART tab is selected. Click and drag to select all boxes (make sure your initial click is above and to the left of the chart). You can also use Ctrl+A to select all boxes.
  • Click on the TEXT WRAP tool and then select the UNLIMITED WRAP option. Notice how boxes are automatically resized to accommodate their contents.
  • Next, let's make sure Assistants are displayed properly in the chart.
  • Select the Tim Main's box (located on the second level).
  • Use the BRANCH STYLES tool to select the ASSISTANT RIGHT style (third item in the bottom row).
  • Finally, let's get the entire chart to fit on the page.
  • Use the FAST SELECT tool to select ALL NON-MANAGERS
  • Use the BRANCH STYLES tool to select the ONE COLUMN RIGHT' style (third element on the second row).
