Tutorial 6 - Using the Box Layout Editor

This tutorial provides step by step instructions on how to use the box layout editor.

  • Select the FILE tab and then click on the OPEN button. Click on the folder called TUTORIALS. Double-click on the file called TUTORIAL 6.
  • Make sure the EDIT CHART tab is selected. Select the top box by clicking on it.
  • Click on the BOX LAYOUT tool. The Box Layout Editor is displayed.
  • First, let's add another field to the box.
  • Select the cell containing the word TITLE.
  • Add a row to the box by clicking on the INSERT ROW BELOW tool.
  • Now drag the field called LOCATION from the field picker (on the left) into the new cell.
  • Click on the Preview checkbox (look at the bottom of the panel).
  • Make sure the BOX WIDTH is set to FIXED and then use the green arrow to resize the box to the desired width.
  • Finally to apply the change to the entire chart, select the ENTIRE CHART radio button and then click OK (at the top).

Tips and Tricks

  • See the Box Layout Editor topic for more information about available options.
  • The recommended setting for BOX WIDTH and BOX HEIGHT is AUTO (SMART) - let ORGCHART NOW do the work for you.
  • You can use the -/+ control (at the bottom) to do fine adjustments on the width.
