OrgChart Now Reference Guide

This guide describes all of the important features and functions of OrgChart Now. This guide is intended to be more encyclopedic and less of a cookbook. See the HOWTOS section for cookbooks.

User Interface

Your user account type determines what functionality you have access to.

  • Navigation Bar - Use the navigation bar as the gateway to all functionality available in OrgChart Now.
  • Main Window - This is where you view and edit charts
  • Panels - Panels allow you to search,navigate and view additional chart details. You can also change chart presentation using different panels.
  • Bottom Tool Bar - Contains details about the current chart and also let you zoom in/out.

  • Import Wizard - Automatically create charts from external data
  • Keyboard Shortcuts - Supported accelerator keys
  • Multi-chart Documents - Multiple charts can be stored within a single document (e.g. one chart for each division)
  • Page Properties - Edit page properties such as page orientation and minimum page size.
  • Parking Lot - The parking lot helps you to manage 'orphan' records and is also helpful for planning and modeling
  • Photos - Photos can be included in your chart
  • OrgChart Now Reader - Reader allows users to view and publish and best all it's free
  • Rules - Use rules for conditional formats, conditional counts and to detect assistants
  • Scheduled Refresh - OrgChart Now can be set to automatically refresh a chart on a periodic basis.
  • Single Sign On - OrgChart Now works with SAML 2.0 which means you can easily implement Single Sign On from solutions including okta and onelogin.
  • Tables - Add tables to your org charts. Tables can contain static values, reference a value from your org chart or even reference data stored in a reference spreadsheet.
