This page details how to setup Single Sign On for OrgChart Now.

Before you begin

  1. Download the application icon (see Application Icons below)
  2. Make sure all userids in OrgChart Now are set to the user's email address1 (the email address in okta is mapped to the userid in OrgChart Now)

1In OrgChart Now, you can edit the userid using the Manage Users Panel (click on the gear icon in the upper right).

Setup Procedure

  1. Login to your okta account as an administrator
  2. Select the Applications menu
  3. Click on the Add Application button
  4. Click on the Create New App button
  5. Select SAML 2.0 and then click Create. Fill in the settings as described below.
  6. General Settings:
    1. Set the Application Label to 'OrgChart Now'
    2. Set the App Logo (using the icon you downloaded)
  7. SAML Settings:
    1. Set Single sign on URL: "https://sso.orgchartnow.com/saml/sso/<orgid>-<server>" 2
    2. Set Audience URI (SP Entity ID): "https://sso.orgchartnow.com/saml/sso/<orgid>-<server>"2
    3. Set Application username: Okta username
  8. Help Okta support:
    1. Select 'I'm an Okta customer…"
  9. Click Finish
  10. Click on "View Setup Instructions" button (in the middle of the page)
    1. Copy the 'Identity Provider Issuer' content (Section 2 on the page) and email to moc.erawtfoskroweciffo|wontrahcgro#moc.erawtfoskroweciffo|wontrahcgro. It will look something like: "https://dev-916928.oktapreview.com/app/exk5pllriks3taYCR0h7/sso/saml/metadata" You can test by pasting the URL in your browser address bar - following the link will download a file called 'metadata'.
  11. Within one business day, you will receive a confirmation email letting you know you can start assigning the OrgChart Now okta application to your users

2The <orgid> can be found in the About Box in OrgChart Now (click on the <i> icon). The <server> is the first part of the URL used to access OrgChart Now (e.g. na3 from na3.orgchartnow.com).

Other considerations

  • If you have a large number of users we can work with you to setup automated provisioning of user accounts in OrgChart Now.
  • If you would like to use one generic user for read only access through okta we can work with you to setup a read only account for general access to org charts
