The main window allows you to view and edit org charts.

Margin Lines

Page margins are the blank space around the edges of the chart. By default, the chart will stay within the margin lines.

  • Margin Lines are show using a gray rectangle within the main window.
  • The margin can be modified using the Page Properties panel.
  • There is an option in the Page Properties panel to show/hide margin lines.
  • Optionally, you can move the chart into the margin area using the Move Object tool. You can use the Chart Centering Tools to force the chart to stay out of the margins.

Header/Footer Lines

Header/Footer Lines allow you to define an area above and below the chart where text labels and other elements such as logos, tables and legends can be placed. By default, the chart will stay outside of the header and footer areas.

  • Header/Footer Lines are show using light blue dashed lines within the main window.
  • The header/footer can be modified using the Page Properties panel.
  • There is an option in the Page Properties panel to show/hide header/footer lines.
  • Optionally, you can move the chart into the header or footer area using the Move Object tool. You can use the Chart Centering Tools to force the chart to stay out of the margins.
  • The header can also be used to position the top of the chart vertically (e.g. push the chart down) on the page.

Tips

  • Use the Master Page to add logos, page numbers and other elements that need to be shown on all pages of your chart.
  • See Tables and Legends topics for more information on how to adjust margins and header/footers sizes so that your charts never overlap your tables and/or legends.
